Inground Pool Coquitlam

The most common pool job we do it at Coquitlam Pool Builders is custom inground pools. Each job has a unique aspect to it but a general process is typically followed for each build. In the pre-construction step, we make sure all of the proper permits are in place and we look to finalize the design and style of your pool. Once the permits have been received, we first start with prepping the job site and performing any excavation and plumbing that is required. As the plumbing is put in place, we will start to install the steel reinforced framework. The overall framework and shape of your pool is coming into place as the gunite (type of concrete used for pool construction) starts being applied. The gunite becomes the shell of your pool and you get to get a glimpse of what your pool will look like.

As the pool begins to take its shape, the surrounding area is cleaned and leveled as prep work for the deck installation. Plumbing work is beginning to finalize and electrical usually follows after. Your pool deck can typically begin to be worked on around this step and around the perimeter of your pool. Similar to flooring, you want to make sure the surrounding area is level to ensure smooth installation above. This is an exciting part of the whole process as you are free to customize your deck in any way shape or form. Stamped concrete or stone can be a great final touch to any pool deck.

We are now approaching the finishing stages of the pool as it is waterproofed and a finish is applied to the surface. There will be a few options here depending upon what was discussed during the consultation step. We've finally reached the end where your pool is ready for start-up and the final step is to go over all of the new features of the pool. Your brand new custom inground pool is now ready for its first swim.

Infinity Pool Coquitlam

Infinity pools are synonymous with luxury and can be a premier addition to any home. Most commonly known as infinity pools, they can also be known as negative edge, disappearing edge, infinity edge, or zero edge pools. These types of pools were initially quite popular in high end hotels and resorts but have made there way into residential landscape as well. The infinity effect is created through an illusion and a bit of ingenious engineering. A normal pool will have its pool walls higher than the water level to keep the water contained within the pool. An infinity pool on the other hand will have one or more of its pool walls built to be the same height as the water level so it is hidden from plain sight. These walls are designed to be sloped slightly away from the pool which then causes the water to go over the edge like a waterfall. The overflowing water is all retained in a holding tank that is built below the edges of the infinity wall so it remains hidden while you look at the edge from the pool. The water in the holding tank is pumped back into the pool to ensure the pool remains full and no water is wasted.

A major factor when considering the construction of an infinity pool is the type of site and landscape that is available to you. An infinity pool can technically be fully in-ground if you have a natural slope to work with. If you are working with no slope, a slope has to be artificially created which means the pool will have to be built either partially or fully above ground. These are the reasons why infinity pools are a great fit with sites with a slope and can create some mesmerizing views. Constructing an infinity pool is a massive job so you want to make sure you higher a pool contractor that has experience in building these types of pools. Our pool contractors at Coquitlam Pool Builders are the best in the industry and has the experience to take on any infinity pool project that you may have.

Vinyl Liner Pool Coquitlam

Another option when looking at installing a pool is to opt for a vinyl liner pool. Compared to other pool types, it has the lowest upfront costs in building the pool and is relatively the most budget friendly option. A vinyl liner pool is typically built by excavating the job site and digging a giant hole in the ground. Once the hole is dug, steel or polymer walls are installed and then the vinyl lining you have chosen will be placed into the space. Vinyl liner the pool is made of is nonporous (unlike concrete) and doesn't absorb chemicals. This leads to less maintenance for your pool and less scrubbing and algae is less likely to grab hold of the walls. Vinyl liner also has a soft surface which is gentle on your feet. The only con for a vinyl pool is that the lining typically needs to be replaced every 5-7 years.
